| The Waipori power scheme was started in 1902 by the Waipori Falls Electric Power Company. In 1904 the Dunedin City Council bought it. The first power was supplied in 1907, initially for Dunedin consumers. The scheme was bought by TrustPower Limited as recently as 1998. |
