Clarence Trip 2004
Trip - Day Three

As promised Maggie is up at 5:30 am to make the fire and cook porridge.
In no time at all it is being greeted with approval from Alan and the other porridge lovers.
The river is  35 - 40 cumecs and slightly rain discoloured.
Bridget enjoys being bitten by an eel while getting fresh water from a stream.
We enjoy a  morning of bouncy rapids, drops and bluffs which everyone handles well.
The aircraft hanger and wind sock on the left river terrace mark our arrival at Muzzle Stream homestead.
Below and right  Part of the wonderful garden at Muzzle Stream homestead and the old cob homestead - still used as sleeping quarters. Muzzle Stream old homestead

Maggie's personal theory that this is a  Moa egg.
was  busted that by Chuck  telling her  it's a  "Moeraki type" concretion.
Concretion at the side of the river
Quaint Fidget Hut up on the river right is a welcome sight.
By  6 pm we are savoring the pleasures of a fresh water spring and a DOC toilet.

Pranjili takes responsibility of writing in the hut book drawing pictures of the rafts, camera and Indian flag,
and lamenting the absence of snakes.
We are not sure what she thinks of some of the previous entries.
The view from the tent and there's lots to look at.
